We produce work of all durations, from short promotional content to longer form documentaries.

We can cover full video production - including videography, sound recording, interviews, editing, colour grading and sound mixing. We frequently collaborate with a network of professional freelancers to include specialist content such as aerial drone footage, motion graphics and animation.

We can also work on individual elements of a given project, for example covering videography and delivering footage as rushes, or editing footage and material supplied by a client.

PROCESS

Consultation
We’ll discuss an idea or brief and provide a quote, or explore how we can work efficiently and creatively to get the most out of a given budget.

Pre-production
We’ll plan an itinerary for production, prep our in-house equipment and arrange for any specialist requirements, such as hired equipment or additional crew.

Production
We’ll schedule each filming day to ensure we capture everything we need. We’re always prepared for changing conditions and happy to rise early or stay late whenever necessary. We look to capture material that gets to the heart of each client's brief, but are also mindful never to be intrusive or get in the way in busy environments.

Delivery
We’ll send a first edit to you for feedback, make any changes as required, then send the final work to you as digital files in the format that you require. We can also supply copies on DVD.

Insurance
All of our equipment is fully insured and any crew are always covered for public liability.

"Working with Afternoon Pictures was an absolute pleasure. Their professionalism and reliability combined with a personal approach that accommodated a variety of complex demands - from filming outdoors in wintery weather, to working flexibly around the needs of our trustees and volunteers. The final documentary and accompanying instructional videos bring together archive footage and recent interviews in a visually stunning sequence that captures the essence of our community woodlands."

Style, Content & Timescale

Some of our favourite projects to date have had a durational approach, allowing time to get to know our clients and their community and adopting an observational approach to capture natural moments that convey the ethos of a given place or subject.

However we’re well aware that our clients often require a fast turnaround, so we’re highly experienced in managing busy itineraries, keeping a cool head under pressure, and going the extra mile to meet tight deadlines.

We love a challenge! Previous projects have included camping out on a wildlife reserve in winter, squeezing between the delicate optics in the lamp room of a lighthouse, and filming from the bow of a racing rowing skiff - there’s not much we’ll turn down!
